Think and Grow Rich
|
|||
Hill discusses thirteen 'steps' to riches, from desire, to the 'sixth sense'. Mastering these steps will lead you to riches. Personally, I have mastered very few of these steps. Maybe that is why I'm not rich yet.
It is a book that I will read and reread many times. Some of the nuggets will only reveal themselves to you by the second or third read.
There is also several action points scattered throughout the book where you are required to do a few exercises (not physical, but mentally). These exercises really help you to get an insight into your own life and finances and you can see how I incorporated some of these exercises in my section 'Inspire Yourself'.
Throughout the book several references are also made to 'Infinite Intelligence', a higher power - a power that you can tap into for inspiration. As a Christian, I object to this, as I believe that our God is a sovereign God. Yes, God helps those who help themselves, but humans just do not 'tap' into God when they need Him. And that is about the only critique I have of this book (and if you don't share my religion that may be a moot point).
At the start Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill mentions that he will only hint at the 'secret of riches' and not state it directly. After having read the book, I will only hint at it further, to paraphrase a famous philosopher: "I think (rich), therefore I am (rich)!" or "I think (poor), therefore I am (poor)!"
This book is a peephole on the minds of the super wealthy - that which makes them different from every one else. Think and Grow Rich can
be an entertaining read, but if you want to be more than entertained, get
Think and Grow Rich from Amazon.
and do the exercises and read and reread the book. Make it part of your collection and one day you can let your children read it,
because Think and Grow Rich will change your approach to money and how to you can make riches a reality.
