Inspirational Poems
Few of us liked poetry and poems in school, and I'm no exception. Inspirational poems and poetry, however, has become a source of awe and inspiration to me. Awe because it contains so much wisdom and truth, and inspiration because of the fact that I find it so difficult to put feelings into words and these authors do it so gracefully in their inspirational poems.
I disliked poetry because we were forced to study poems in such depth that it just became a case of too much. Since school I have come to appreciate poetry more (even wrote a few poems myself - read it here) because it expresses so much of feelings. I have utter admiration for these writers that succeed so beautifully in capturing their emotions in words.
From the authors that teach and tell about life, to those passing on wisdom to younger generations, they all have that special something that makes their writings inspirational. I call this special something, "Dancing with words." Yes, there are those people that 'dance with words' to serve their own ends. These poets and poems, however, serve to depart some of their wisdom and experiences for the benefit of others.
Below I list some of my favourite inspirational poems:
