The Idea

Search on E-bay for something that you can buy in bulk (for bulk discount). Divide it up and sell it in smaller lots/single units locally or at stands/fairs for a nice markup.

Costs: $0.03/unit, $40 shipping (4 participants contributed $10 each - so still within challenge guidelines). Product spoiled in shipping: 10=$0.30
Income: $1/unit sold out in one night (at a school event I assume) for $1,000+ profit.

Modifications:
Expand to fairs with a stall and other similar products for increased revenue potential.

Total Amount Made:$250+ per contributor (one went one to do it alone to buy a horse)

Residual potential: The stall idea might not be so great for residual, but if you could set up a 'reselling' business on E-bay, get a proper system in place to track and manage sales, this buy-in-bulk-sell-individually idea could become a nice passive income stream (paying other people to work your system).

The online Auction site Ebay has opened up a lot of opportunities by connecting buyers and sellers on a global scale. Now anyone can do the wholesale thing by taking the risk to buy products in bulk from a seller (oftentimes it can be acquired directly from the manufacturer) and finding retail buyers through the same system (or locally). Overall it was some nice money made through great implementation and there is still more potential with this Ebay money making idea.
