Indeed, we who work in the background are more than mere shadows. We are the inspiration, the wind beneath her wings. Yes, I know she is not talking to me, but if you read what I say on Bonnie Tyler's song I need a hero you will understand. All I want to hear is that I'm your hero.
So that is what I am working towards - I want to be a hero. A hero to my wife, a hero to my children, a hero to my friends and a hero to my country. Yes, I am human, but it is our very humanity that makes heroes of some and cowards of others.
