Winds of Fate -
The poem, the Winds of Fate by Ella Wheeler-Wilcox, state that it is the set of the sails that determine the direction of the boat. Are your life not going where you want it to? Do you blame circumstances outside yourself - the ways of fate? Perhaps you can change the setting of the sails - or how you view the things that are happening to you. Can you learn something from this and what is the positive outtake from it?
The sailing metaphor is a good one for telling us about our attitudes. Instead of saying 'I can't', ask yourself 'How can I?' With a change in attitude, you can change your direction. And with a change in direction, you can change your destination.
Throughout life we will all face things outside our control. How we react to it, however, is up to us. So set your sails in a manner that will move you in the direction you wish to go - whether Fate's Gales is blowing against you, or for you.
